政策:

All University employees are responsible for the protection of 青年s hosted on 营us or participating in events or 程序s under the direction of the University at other geographic locations. Failure to comply with this policy may lead to disciplinary action and/or the revocation of the opportunity to use university facilities or representing the University.

背景调查

The University requires that all 授权的成年人 be subject to a criminal background check as specified by the University. All background checks must be completed and evaluated annually at the 赞助单位’s expense through the University approved vendor (unless required to be conducted through the State of Michigan) before an 授权的成人 can instruct, 监督, 伴护, 监督或以其他方式与青少年在青少年计划互动. The University requires a minimum of two weeks prior to the commencement of the 程序 to complete background checks.

如果有犯罪记录, the 青少年保护/遵约协调员 will evaluate and make a determination regarding the ability of an 授权的成人 to participate in a 青年项目.

行为标准

授权成人有责任熟悉本政策 青少年保护网站 以及这些行为标准.  The following standards of behavior are expected to be adhered to in order to prevent harm to 青年s or behaviors that could be misinterpreted:

  • 不从事任何性活动, 做出性评论, 讲性笑话, or share sexually explicit material (or assist in any way to provide access to such material) with 青年s.

“看一些，说一些，做一些。.” Every member of the University community has an obligation to immediately report instances or suspected instances of abuse of or inappropriate interactions with 青年s to the 青少年保护/遵约协调员, 发给OUPD和青年项目管理员.

Individuals violating this policy will be subject to disciplinary action up to and including expulsion or termination.

  • Review background checks and make final determination as to whether an 授权的成人 is allowed to take part in a 青年项目.
  • Conduct periodic audits to ensure all 授权的成年人 have had a background check and completed training mandated by the University.
